Applying to graduate

All students, undergraduate and graduate, must apply to graduate in order to receive their degree. Applying on time will avoid possible graduation problems and ensure your name is printed in the commencement program.

Apply online on the Student Records tab in myOswego:

Sign in to myOswego (http://myoswego.oswego.edu)
Click on the "Student Records" tab
Click on "Apply for Graduation"
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Education majors - Have teacher certification Questions?

Commencement/graduation ceremony information (caps and gowns, tickets, seating, etc.)

December 2016 graduation: Dec. 17, 2016
December Commencement ceremonies will be held in the Marano Campus Center.

May graduation: May 13, 2017
May Commencement ceremonies will be held in the Marano Campus Center.
Do not apply for May graduation if you have coursework to complete during the summer; apply for August.

August graduation: No separate ceremony
Students who file for August graduation are automatically included in and invited to participate in the May ceremony.

Undergraduate students

Undergraduate students must meet with their advisor for each of their major(s) and minor(s) and complete a Senior Check Form to be submitted to Graduation Services in the Registrar's Office, 301 Culkin Hall, by the appropriate deadline. The Senior Check Form is mandatory for graduation. After applying to graduate, Senior Check Forms can be downloaded from Degree Works or from our Forms page. Do not submit Senior Check Forms prior to applying to graduate.

If needed, undergraduate students can request changes to their majors/minors via the "Request Declaration/Change of Major/Minor" link on the Student Records tab in myOswego.

December 2016 graduation:
Dates to apply online: Jan. 1, 2016 to April 1, 2016
Deadline to return Senior Check Forms: May 1, 2016

May 2017 graduation:
Dates to apply online: April 1, 2016 to Oct. 1, 2016
Deadline to return Senior Check Forms: Dec. 1, 2016

August 2017 graduation:
Dates to apply online: April 1, 2016 to Feb 2, 2017
Deadline to return Senior Check Forms: April 1, 2017
