SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu joined fellow higher education leaders from across the nation in Washington, D.C. earlier this week to meet with members of the 119th Congress for the AASCU on the Hill Annual Convening.

'Art in Motion' project aims to provide stress management break

"Art in Motion" aims to provide a relaxing evening surrounding stress management through different art forms from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5, in 220 Wilber Hall.

The first 12 participants to hand in their survey will receive a prize at the conclusion of the program.

The event is part of the HSC 448: "Health Promotion Programming" class taught by Jessica Harris, and is part of a final project to implement a program on campus that students work on all semester.

City conducting ‘Code Enforcement Blitz’ of off-campus properties, starting May 5

The City of Oswego will conduct its 9th annual Code Enforcement Blitz from May 5 to 19.

As the community transitions into summer, the city is making an effort to ensure that tenants do not leave behind garbage, debris or furniture. The community-campus partnership is one appreciated by both parties, so leaving Oswego in good condition for the upcoming summer season is welcomed by all.

Student-run WNYO 88.9FM will once again host a 24-Hour Charity Radiothon to support Oswego County Opportunities, in collaboration with University Police. It will take place from 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9, to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.

CTS exploring Google Pixel networking issue

Campus Technology Services (CTS) would like to inform the campus that Google Pixel smartphones operating on Android 15 cannot connect to the SUNY Oswego secure wireless network. A recent Google security update in Android 15 is preventing these phones from connecting to the SUNY Oswego secure wireless network.

Journal Jenga to present interactive wellness workshop

The campus community is invited to take a break and connect with their inner selves during Journal Jenga, an interactive wellness workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 1 in 142 Marano Campus Center.

Organizers describe this as a creative, hands-on mental health activity designed to encourage self-reflection and self-care. Each Jenga block holds a unique journal prompt to spark meaningful conversations and personal growth in a fun, low-pressure setting.

During Quest on April 23, 13 students from Spanish 395/495, "The Caribbean in Colonial Times" — an upper-division course taught by Roseli Rojo in the Department of Modern Languages and Literature — presented research posters examining the complexities of life in the colonial Caribbean.
