Rice Creek grant deadline extended

Rice Creek Associates has extended the deadline to submit a small grant proposal to Monday, March 17. (See original announcement for details.)

Recipients will be notified by Monday, March 31.

VITA free tax-preparation program set for spring 2025

SUNY Oswego’s IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will continue to provide free tax assistance for the community in Oswego and Fulton locations this spring.

Those signing up should call 315-596-2551 to leave a message with their name and phone number to schedule an appointment. All messages will be returned within 24 hours.

SUNY Oswego business students and expert advisers will again provide this free service.

Lakers earn NCAA Student-Athlete Community Service Award

SUNY Oswego has earned the 2024 NCAA Student-Athlete Community Service Award, which recognizes student-athletes' community engagement on campus, in their collegiate cities and in the surrounding areas.

The Fire Within to present Focus on Faculty show March 2

February 19, 2025

The Fire Within, led by associate professor and chair of music Juliet Forshaw, will start the spring semester's Focus on Faculty series with a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom.

SUNY Oswego classes continue remote on Wednesday, Feb. 19

Due to adverse weather conditions, SUNY Oswego has announced that all classes at both the Oswego and Syracuse campuses will be taught remotely on Wednesday, Feb. 19. This includes day and evening classes.

All face-to-face and hybrid classes will shift to remote instruction as directed by your faculty member. Online courses will proceed as scheduled.  

Reduced campus operations to continue today

Due to ongoing weather issues and posted travel restrictions, operations on campus will continue to be leaner due to reduced staffing on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Dining halls will be open, but all other Auxiliary Services options across campus will not. Dining hours will be as follows:

Discover Wellness to offer in-person program for employees

February 18, 2025

Discover Wellness will offer a five-week in-person wellness journey for employees starting on March 24.

Sessions will be led by Wellness Fellows, trained in positive psychology, with in-person coaching sessions with featuring Amy Bidwell of the Health Promotion and Wellness Department.

​​Video rewind: SHOP pantry opens new Syracuse Campus location

SUNY Oswego’s SHOP (Student Helping Oz Peers) pantry recently expanded its reach, opening in the university’s Syracuse Campus and offering even more help to adult learners. A Feb. 12 grand opening celebrated the new location and the successful effort to better support the students the Syracuse Campus services.

Reduced operations expected on campus today

February 17, 2025

Due to the continued severe weather, operations on campus will be lighter due to minimal staffing on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Dining halls will be open, but all other Auxiliary Services options across campus will not.

Penfield Library will be closed.

Marano Campus Center activities will be essential operations only.

Health Services will work remotely due to the weather conditions. Call Health Services at 315-312-4100 with any questions.
