The SUNY Oswego Theatre Department is proud to announce upcoming late-January auditions for its spring 2026 musical production of "All Shook Up."
This high-energy show, featuring a book by Joe DiPietro, is inspired by and features the legendary songs of Elvis Presley. The department is seeking a diverse cast of student talent to bring this rock-and-roll story to life. Auditions are open to students of any class year and major.
The preliminary acting and singing auditions will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, and Friday, Jan. 30. During these sessions, actors will have a five-minute time slot to present both a one-minute comedic monologue and a 32-bar cut of a musical theatre song.
While students are welcome to sing selections from the show, any audition song should be in a style consistent with the music in the show. Auditioning actors are required to bring sheet music with their specific song cut clearly marked for the accompanist.
In addition to the individual time slots, all auditioning actors must participate in a mandatory dance call on Friday, Jan. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. During this time, choreographer Stefanie Standish will teach a brief combination from the show, which actors will then perform in small groups to demonstrate their movement abilities. About "All Shook Up"
It’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. This hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy aims to have the audience jumpin’ out of their blue suede shoes with classics like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” "Fools Fall in Love" and “Blue Suede Shoes."
