Stress Free Week offers variety of programs

Student Engagement and Leadership, Campus Recreation, The Office of the Dean of Students, and Student Orientation and Family Engagement present a variety of events for Stress Free Week, March 2 to 6. This week of programs is designed to help students relieve stress and have fun in the lead-up to midterms.

Monday, March 2: Stress Free Movie Night, featuring "Mean Girls" and free popcorn from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (room 132)

SUNY Oswego’s Dream Big Career, Internship and Exploration Fair –- from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 in Swetman Gym –- aims to be bigger and better, including a new feature that can connect students with businesses even faster.

Save the date for Laps for Lakers on April 29

The campus community is invited to join Laps With Lakers, an annual highlight on Wednesday, April 29, in the Academic Quad from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m.

This is the 10th annual event where students, employees and community members are invited to walk, run or roll laps around the quad to raise awareness about sexual and interpersonal violence. 

Should the day have inclement weather, the event will take place in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall.

Summer Sessions schedule now viewable

While the calendar might read winter, Summer Sessions are right around the corner, with 2026 courses now viewable on MyOswego.

Registration will begin on March 23, so students can start planning their summer schedule now. Summer Sessions present an opportunity to catch up, get ahead or focus on a course a student has always wanted to take.

With flexible three-, six-, and 12-week options, students can build a schedule that fits their goals. Convenient payment plans are available for everyone, plus financial aid for those who qualify.

The Village housing selection happening this week

Students eligible to live in The Village townhouses on campus can participate in the lottery by logging to the myHousing portal.

For fully matched groups (four-person and six-person), participation would take place between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Student Engagement and Leadership to host Trivia Night Tuesday

Join Student Engagement and Leadership for a night of trivia, snacks, and friendly competition in the Marano Campus Center Food Court (Laker Landing) on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 6 to 7 p.m.

  • Snacks provided
  • Raffle prizes given away between each round
  • The winning team takes home Dining Dollars

The event will raffle off prizes throughout the night, so even if you’re not in first place, you still have chances to win.

Accessibility office hours now available

As the Title II of the ADA deadline approaches, the Workgroup on Accessibility Practices will host Zoom Office Hours every other week to support faculty and staff throughout the remainder of the semester.

The purpose of the Zoom Office Hours is to provide an open space to ask questions and get guidance on digital accessibility. No appointment is needed. Feel free to join at any time during the scheduled office hours.

Campus community celebrates MLK’s legacy through service

Nearly 300 members of the campus community participated in the annual MLK Day of Service to honor his legacy of justice and service to others on Feb. 7. Non-profit organizations both on and off campus benefited from the large volunteer turnout.
