Priority Housing open for students through Dec. 7

Priority Housing, open now through Dec. 7, gives students a stronger lottery position during the Housing Selection Process for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Students can complete the Priority Housing Application and Roommate Matching in the MyHousing Portal by Dec. 7 to receive priority within their class year.

National First-Generation College Celebration today

With approximately 1 out of every 3 SUNY Oswego undergraduates identifying as first-generation college students, the university will recognize these students as part of the National First-Generation College Celebration from noon to 3:30 p.m. in 215 Penfield Library.

The campus community is invited to drop by to mix with students, faculty and staff, helping to recognize these students and their needs. Pizza and popcorn will be provided through a generous grant from Auxiliary Services.

Students: Watch your inboxes for SUNY Basic Needs survey

SUNY Oswego students should have received emails inviting participation in SUNY’s Basic Needs Survey. Since many SUNY students experience difficulty in meeting all of their basic needs, such as having enough food, stable housing, available transportation or sufficient childcare, this survey helps administrators understand those gaps, how they occur and how to best help all students meet their needs.

Balancing it all: 911 operator and mom finds her second calling at SUNY Oswego

Shayla Shuler ’25, a full-time 911 operator and mother, returned to SUNY Oswego through the flexible Integrative Professional Studies (IPS) program to finish her degree and pursue a new career in human resources. Balancing work, school, and family, she found confidence, support, and empowerment in a program that values her experience and helps her build a future around her strengths.

Living Writers Series to feature award-winning poet Albert Abonado on Nov. 10

Albert Abonado –- an award-winning poet, essayist and SUNY Oswego faculty member -- is the next featured guest in the Living Writers Series on Monday, Nov. 10. The event, at 3 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (room 132) will include a poetry reading, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Self-service test scoring moved to 26 Lanigan, now with required booking

Campus Technology Services (CTS) thanks those whor have adapted to the new self-service model for Scantron test scoring. CTS wants to provide a location reminder and highlight the key requirements for using the service efficiently.
