Late Night Study Break unfolds around Marano tonight

Marano Campus Center will be filled with activities tonight (March 3) for Late Night Study Break.

From 8 to 11 p.m., Late Night Study Break will feature free food, giveaways and activities including: Glow Open Skate, Build-a-Buddy, henna, make and take crafts, psychic readings, Glow Mini-Golf, lawn games, a smash rage room, massages, a caricature artist, photo booth, a movie with popcorn and more.

The first 100 students to arrive will receive a free t-shirt.

Spring Break shuttle buses available

March 1, 2023

Shuttle buses from campus to the Syracuse Airport and Regional Transportation Center will be available Friday, March 10, at the start of the 2023 spring break. Shuttles returning to campus will be available Sunday, March 19.

EMS (scheduling software) outage scheduled March 3

Due to a scheduled upgrade, an EMS scheduling software outage will take place on Friday, March 3.

EMS is the software used to make room reservations for events. The system is expected to return to full (upgraded) operation by Saturday, March 4.

Today's Conversation with Cabinet in Tyler Hall

Today's Conversations with Cabinet will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. in Tyler Hall (first floor lobby). Students, members of the faculty and staff are invited to drop by to converse about an important topic, ask a question or just touch base and connect with Mary C. Toale, Officer in Charge, and Wayne Westervelt, the university's Chief Communication Officer.

If your schedule allows, stop by and converse with Mary and Wayne. Details are provided below.

Register by March 6 to attend the spring 2023 Restorative Practices retreat

Last fall, over two days in November, 45 SUNY Oswego faculty, staff and students participated in the first ever restorative practices retreat titled, “Inclusive Community: Reimagining Campus with Restorative Practices.” The diverse group of participants represented every division on campus and a multitude of positions/classifications. Robust positive assessment by the first group of participants, and continued interest convinced Officer in Charge Dr. Mary C.

Student Involvement Awards applications now open

Applications are open for this year's Student Involvement Awards, which will be presented at the Student Leadership Ceremony from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom.

Great Lake Review accepting submissions

SUNY Oswego's longstanding, student-run literary journal Great Lake Review is currently open to submissions for its Spring '23 issue. 

Bone marrow donor registration drive this week

February 27, 2023

On March 2 and 3 this week, Phi Sigma Sigma sorority will join Be the Match for a bone marrow donor registration drive.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. those days across on the Marano Campus Center Concourse (near the upstairs arena entrance).

Organizers said donating bone marrow helps to cure more than 75 blood-related cancers and other diseases, and registration takes roughly five minutes. Those who sign up to be a donor at the table can potentially save a life.

SUNY Oswego herbarium providing research benefits, training students through NSF grant

The SUNY Oswego herbarium will preserve and provide access to natural history while giving 20 students paid research experience, thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
