Pre-Med/Pre-Health Scholarships

The Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) works with Oswego's Development Office to administer scholarships and awards to Oswego students.

The Dr. Walter Freund Memorial Scholarship was established by a $60,000 gift to the SUNY Oswego from Annaliese Freund in memory of Dr. Walter Freund, MD. The annual income from this gift is to be used to "assist financially in the education of one or more students each year who are taking premedical courses." Each award ranges from $2,000-4,000.

The Thomas C. Mahl, MD ’80 Scholarship was established by Thomas C. Mahl, MD ’80 in perpetual support of undergraduates who have an interest in and potential for a career in a further professional degree in the health sciences (medicine, dentistry, etc.) Through this support, Dr. Mahl hopes to foster improved health in all populations. The award is $1,000.
