‘World-class trombonist’ Michael Davis to play two shows at SUNY Oswego

National Grid Challenge Grant funds seven faculty-student research projects

The spring 2026 round of the National Grid Challenge Grant has funded seven faculty-student research proposals, totalling more than $32,000 in support.

Funded projects were recommended for approval by members of the Scholarly and Creative Activity Committee and ultimately approved for funding by Interim Provost Kristen Eichhorn. 

Projects include:
  • Title: Characterization of two putative regulators of adhesion and migration in Dictyostelium discoideum
    Faculty member: Yulia Artemenko (Biological Sciences)

Volunteer ushers sought for May Commencement

As the campus prepares to celebrate its latest impressive round of graduates during three ceremonies on Saturday, May 16, the Public Ceremonies Committee again seeks volunteer ushers to help ensure a happy day for families and friends in attendance.

Ushers help with overall crowd management and seating people with special needs at the ceremonies in the Marano Campus Center's Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall, but moreover, they help make this joyous day run smoother for the many guests celebrating this important milestone.

Organizers are giving away over $3,000 in prizes, offering free food and merch throughout the entire event, and providing the opportunity for participants to meet several large companies that are sponsoring the event.

The event will run from 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.
