Hannibal students learn about science at SUNY Oswego

About 75 fifth-grade students from Hannibal Central School District (HCSD) spent the day exploring science, discovery and possibility during a field trip to the Shineman Center at SUNY Oswego on Friday, April 17.

Student Engagement and Leadership hosts event with Syracuse Trivia Company

The department of Student Engagement and Leadership (SEL) is collaborating with Syracuse Trivia Company to bring an exciting trivia event to campus at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, in Marano Campus Center's Laker Landing (food court).

SEL referred to STC as a premier trivia company in CNY, hosting the engaging trivia nights in the area.

The campus is invited to come for the trivia but stay for the free pizza and boneless wings and raffle prizes throughout the event. The winning trivia team will also collect a prize.

Quest includes new features, traditional favorites

This year's Quest on Wednesday, April 22, will feature a number of new features to complement popular returning traditions.

For Quest, the university’s day celebrating scholarly and creative activities, all classes between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. are cancelled to promote campus participation as presenters and attendees.

Wireless network maintenance early tomorrow in Hewitt

On April 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform network maintenance affecting access to the wireless network in Hewitt Hall. During this time period, the wireless campus network will be intermittently unavailable from the Hewitt Hall south basement.

OzFest volunteers still needed; sign-up deadline this week

As SUNY Oswego prepares to celebrate the end of the 2025–26 academic year, the university still seeks volunteers to help sustain the campus tradition of OzFest on Friday, May 8.

This annual celebration brings the campus together for a full day of engaging activities, entertainment, and community-building for students.

This year, organizers are enhancing our daytime experience with updated and expanded activities, and are seeking volunteers to help ensure a safe, fun and memorable event for everyone involved.

Lessons in Leadership series to empower regional professionals

The SUNY Oswego Division of Extended Learning is proud to announce the return of its premier professional development program, the Lessons in Leadership series, for 2026. Designed for both emerging and established leaders, this series provides actionable insights into the rapidly shifting dynamics of the modern workplace.

Starting in May 2026, the program will feature four immersive, three-hour workshops held every other month through the end of the year. The curriculum is specifically curated to address contemporary business challenges, including:

Oswego Scholar in Residence to present 'Turning Life Experience into Lasting Impact'

SUNY Oswego Scholar in Residence Robert Simmons, vice president for U.S. social impact and community engagement and executive director of the National Grid Foundation, will talk with students about how to use their unique life experiences to build lasting impact in their own communities through meaningful work and career choices.

SEL invites students to Paint and Sip on April 20

April 17, 2026

Student Engagement and Leadership presents a spring themed Paint and Sip event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, in the Marano Campus Center Laker Landing (food court) with facilitator Emily Gushea.

All supplies will be provided. Complimentary snacks and drinks, including a cheese platter and spring mocktail, are provided by Auxiliary Services.

No experience is necessary to participate. Students are invited to come unwind and enjoy a night of fun.

Campus community invited to participate in Oswego Town survey

With most of SUNY Oswego’s lakeside location situated in the Town of Oswego, the campus community is invited to participate in the town’s Comprehensive Plan Survey.

The Town of Oswego is currently working with the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board and New York State Department of State for a comprehensive plan update.
