'Self-Care Sunday' podcast launched

A new campus-based podcast mini-series recent launched called "Self-Care Sunday."

This podcast was co-created by mental health counseling graduate student Shannon France and Kyle Dzintars, a counselor from the Counseling Services Center.

Performer Sabrina Carpenter to provide free fundraising concert Oct. 2

Singer, songwriter and actress Sabrina Carpenter will present an exclusive virtual concert for the campus community at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, as a fundraiser for the Student Emergency Fund and SHOP pantry.

Training sessions offered for HR request forms

The Office of Human Resources will offer training sessions for each electronic form in Hirezon/Interview Exchange through the end of the semester to help assist with the transition of these paper form processes to electronic. Below are the training sessions available:

'Writing Away Stress' program slated Oct. 6

 The Employee Assistance Program Committee will collaborate with the Discover Wellness worksite wellness program to offer SUNY Oswego employees a "Writing Away Stress" session from 1 to 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The program, presented over Zoom, is open to all employees via online registration.

SUNY Oswego has kicked off its 2020 State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA)/United Way campaign. This year's campaign looks and feels different due to COVID-19, but the desperate need of the many organizations SEFA supports remains the same. That’s why our committee has once again set an ambitious fundraising goal of $30,000.

SUNY Chancellor institutes emergency directive in response to COVID-19 student violations

SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras announced today (Sept. 25, 2020) the implementation of a new policy—an unprecedented “comprehensive emergency directive to address violations of COVID-19 safety protocols occurring at all SUNY state-operated campuses, statutory colleges, and community colleges.”

Blackboard webpage, mobile app and Panopto authentication updates

Prior to the beginning of the semester, the campus migrated Blackboard to a new authentication method requiring the use of your full email address.

At that time, the previous authentication used within Blackboard was removed. On Sept. 23, the service behind the previous authentication was disabled. Unfortunately, this affected some users who were still using an alternative method of authenticating.
