New idle timeout for ATC and lab computers

Starting on Oct. 23 at 7:15 a.m., Campus Technology Services will be configuring an idle timeout for Advanced Technology Classroom (ATC) computers and CTS-managed computer lab machines. This change will help:

Changes to Centro shuttle schedules

Centro has made changes to its Blue and Green bus routes around campus, which were effective as of the beginning of this week (Oct. 19):

  • The Green Route that services Rice Creek and Romney Field House will run Monday through Wednesday continuously from noon to 6 p.m.
  • The Blue Route that services campus will continue to run the same Monday through Friday route, but Saturday service will no longer be available.

The Writers Speak! Fall 2020 Lecture Series returns with School of Education professor Barbara Beyerbach discuss "Writing as a Mindfulness Practice" from 12:45 to 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21. 

The event is open to all members of the SUNY Oswego community. 

Beyerbach has been a faculty member in SUNY Oswego’s curriculum and instruction department since 1987, and before that was an elementary teacher who taught preschool, kindergarten, fifth grade and sixth grade.

SEFA to offer inaugural Thanksgiving Pie Sale

Thriving Campus app connects students to mental health resources

SUNY Oswego was an early adopter of the Thriving Campus application, a program that connects students with counseling services and which SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras recently announced would be adopted throughout the State University system as part of a comprehensive plan to expand access to mental health services to every student at SUNY’s 64 campuses.

Cathy Santos to serve as Latino Student Union keynote speaker

Alumna and longtime SUNY Oswego leader Cathy Santos will serve as Latino Student Union keynote speaker, with a virtual talk at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.

Earning her bachelor's and master's degrees (in 1987 and 1999, respectively) Santos is a retired Boruica higher education professional who currently directs library services as part of a committee for Oswego County.
