Blackboard webpage, mobile app and Panopto authentication updates

Prior to the beginning of the semester, the campus migrated Blackboard to a new authentication method requiring the use of your full email address.

At that time, the previous authentication used within Blackboard was removed. On Sept. 23, the service behind the previous authentication was disabled. Unfortunately, this affected some users who were still using an alternative method of authenticating.  

Changes to Google Meet coming Oct. 1

Meet -- Google’s video-conferencing tool available in the SUNY Oswego LakerApps suite of applications -- will see some changes starting Oct. 1, including participant limits and changes to live streaming, although its recording feature will continue.

Registration open for fall Oswego KidsTech

Children are invited to participate in STEM 4 Kids (grades 1 to 3) or Young Inventors (grades 4 to 6), which start this October.

The SUNY Oswego technology department and Oswego Technology Student Association host two different iSTEM (integrative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programs for elementary-aged children.

Student Writing Group forming to foster creative, connecting outlet

Those looking for a creative outlet can join a series of writing workshops for students to encourage positive mental health through self-expression.

These are not classes; there are no grades. Students can come for one session or for all six. The ultimate goal is to help students feel better through writing.

Stride to Save Lives to take place virtually through September

The annual Stride to Save Lives suicide prevention event, which usually brings hundreds of participants to campus this month, has become a virtual event throughout September.

SUNY Oswego and the Oswego County Suicide Prevention Coalition present this virtual effort that raises awareness and provides educational programming and events in the Oswego County community. Participant can walk, run, bike or prance in support of suicide prevention and awareness.
