Sarfraz Mian portrait in his officeSarfraz Mian is Professor of Entrepreneurship & Strategy and Chair of the Marketing & Management Department at the School of Business, SUNY Oswego. A recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarly Activity (2012), the impact of Dr. Mian’s published work ranks number one in Technology Business Incubation according to the Journal of Business Research (2016). He is included among the top thirteen scholars in University Entrepreneurship according to Industrial and Corporate Change (2007).

Dr. Mian has published 3 recent books and more than 50 articles; delivered several keynotes and 100 conference presentations. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Small Business Management. Recently he has served as guest editor of special issues on incubation and entrepreneurial university in Technovation, Journal of Technology Transfer, Small Business Economics, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He is co-founder and US Coordinator of North American Innovation Research Network (NAIR. Net), and is a team leader and head (PI) in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Program. He earned his MS from Northwestern and MBA/PhD from George Washington.
