What will it cost me to live in The Village?
You will pay your Oswego Guarantee single room rate.

Who is eligible to live in The Village?
The Village townhouse community is for students of at least junior status who have lived on campus at Oswego for a significant portion of their undergraduate experience. Specifically, to take occupancy in The Village, residents must have at least 57 earned credits and have fulfilled the requirement for semesters lived on campus at SUNY Oswego based on their status (as determined by the Admissions Office) when they first enrolled at SUNY Oswego (3 regular [fall or spring] semesters if they first enrolled as Freshmen/First Year students;).

Will I be able to park my car at The Village?
In keeping with the campus' commitment to sustainability, there will be 175 parking spaces at The Village. Additional parking is available in lots 11 and 13.

Can males and females share a townhouse?
Yes. Males and females will be able to live together in a townhouse if all students in that townhouse agree to live in that arrangement. Students who choose a gender inclusive living arrangement MUST sign a Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement.

Is there a requirement of prior live-on experience?
Yes - see eligibility requirements above.

If I am assigned to live at The Village, how long am I obligated to live there?
Students assigned to The Village will sign a contract which will be binding for the entire academic year; requests for release from the contract will be decided using the procedure and guidelines currently in place.

If I am assigned to live at The Village, can I stay there over breaks?
Village residents will be able to stay in their townhouses during breaks.

Is there an orientation?
Yes, each student assigned to The Village will be required to attend at least one orientation session, within the first two weeks of the semester..

Will there be grad student housing?
Graduate students are eligible to apply to live at The Village.

Is there a meal plan option?
Students living at The Village will not be required to purchase a meal plan; however, students can choose to purchase one of many different meal plan options available from Auxiliary Services.

What amenities are included in a Village townhouse?
All basic utilities are provided: electricity, water, internet, kitchen, washer and dryer, and air conditioning.

Can faculty/staff rent a townhouse?
No. The Village is intended as a student community.

What other services will be available?
Services you're accustomed to in the residence halls, such as maintenance and custodial staff to respond to requests for repairs, etc., trash and snow removal and 7-day custodial coverage in the Commons Building.

Where will I get my mail?
Mailboxes are located in The Village Commons.

What other services will be offered in The Village Commons?
There is a reception desk and a café/recreation area.

What’s in the bedroom?
A full-size bed, desk with desk chair, and armoire.

How big are the bedrooms?
They are between 116 and 136 square feet (approximately 11 ft x 12 ft).

What storage space is in each townhouse?
There is a closet in the entryway and another in the kitchen.

Are the townhouses carpeted?
The bedrooms and living room are carpeted. The kitchen has vinyl tile and the bathrooms have porcelain tile.

How big is the living area?
The living room is approximately 13 ft x 13 ft; the kitchen and living room together are about 25.5 ft x 13 ft. The kitchen and living room are “separated” by a kitchen island.

How many 4-bedroom townhouses are there?  How many 6-bedroom?
There are 30 4-bedroom units and 38 6-bedroom units.

How many bathrooms are in each townhouse?
The 6-bedroom apartments have two full bathrooms. The 4-bedroom units have 1 full bathroom. All bathrooms have private shower and toilet areas so that the shower, toilet and sink/vanity could all be used at once with privacy.

Are pets allowed in The Village townhouses?
Fish in aquariums up to 20 gallons are permitted. All other pets are prohibited.
