Assistant Director, Student and Community Advocacy
Under the direction of the Senior Associate Director for Residence Life and Housing, the Assistant Director strives to develop cohesive, safe, and positive residence hall communities; manages response to student conduct in the residence halls; leads initiatives to improve community standards and community health; and serves as student and staff advocate for the purpose of enhancing the operations, programs, services, and student retention of a residence hall system. Serves as a member of the department's leadership team initiating strategic planning and organizational leadership to facilitate the development of the overall operation including engagement of students in educational opportunities that exist to build community and develop citizenship and leadership; support student success; and contribute to the achievement of SUNY Oswego's academic mission and strategic planning goals. Acts decisively and diplomatically to advance and protect departmental and University relations in resolving situations that are unique, controversial, or not fully resolved by hall staff.
