Flags of Meaning event Oct. 12 to explore Pride Flag

The inaugural Flags of Meaning exploration event will discuss the Pride Flag at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in 114 Marano Campus Center (next to the Hearth Lounge).

Organizers described the event as "the first in a series to explore flags and banners, what they tell the world about us, what they tell us about ourselves, and how they inspire, unite or divide us."

Events will promote breast cancer awareness, provide fundraising support

The State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) will promote breast cancer awareness this month with Pink the Rink and Pink Day, both supporting Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Cancer Services.

The annul Pink the Rink women’s hockey game will see the Lakers host the London Devilettes from Ontario at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at  6 p.m. 

SEFA promotes multiple events during October

The campus State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) will sponsor multiple events for the month of October, in the interest of the campus and community. 

SEFA will promote such activities as the Pink the Rink women’s hockey game, Pink Day and their annual bake sale. 

The Pink the Rink women’s hockey game vs. the London Devilettes will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 15, in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall as a way to promote breast cancer awareness through athletics.

Hall Newman Center Silent Auction runs through next week

The Hall Newman Center’s Fall 2022 Silent Auction is live with a variety of items available with bidding running through Oct. 19.

The Hall Newman Center website showcases auction items, and participants can order tickets to bid on the items with a $1 donation per ticket.
