Flu shots for campus on Oct. 16 and 24

SUNY Oswego, in partnership with Wegmans Pharmacy, will host flu vaccination clinics on Monday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Marano Campus Center's Swetman Gym. 

Oxford Nanopore seminars at Syracuse Campus Oct. 10, 11

ASAP session to spotlight Career Services, EXCEL

The Adult Student Assistance Program (ASAP) will spotlight Career Services and EXCEL: Experiential Courses and Engaged Learning in an online session tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 11) at 7 p.m.

The session will allow attendees to meet representatives of these offices and learn more about both career-finding resources and how internships and co-ops can help build their professional networks, develop skills and receive valuable feedback from professionals.

Plans coming together for Graduate Studies Week

SUNY Oswego's annual Graduate Studies Week 2023, running Nov. 6 to 10, is a week-long celebration in honor of the students, faculty, and staff who make the program.

That week, the Division of Graduate Studies will host an array of online, in-person, informative and social events.

When it comes to account and data security, the first line of defense is the password to access them. Utilizing strong passwords and keeping good password hygiene is very important to protecting yourself.

Microsoft Office 365 license update scheduled Oct. 5

On Oct, 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the following Microsoft Office 365 applications will not be available as Campus Technology Services (CTS) performs license maintenance.

Van driver training sessions scheduled

October 4, 2023

SUNY Oswego policy requires that in order to operate the college-owned 12-passenger vans, students must be 18 years of age, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and complete a driver training session. This includes students who are responsible for transporting persons in the vans for departmental purposes such as academic field trips, residence life and housing programs, athletic contests and community service.

It is recommended, but not required, that faculty and staff complete the driver training prior to operating a 12-passenger van.

Call for Nominations: SUNY Awards and Promotions Selection Committee

The process by which SUNY Oswego recommends nominees for SUNY Awards and the promotion to Distinguished Professorships involves the actions of a selection committee.

The selection committee is responsible for soliciting campus nominations, reviewing nomination files, evaluating all nominees and ranking nominations as a recommendation for action by the President.

If elected, Faculty Assembly policy calls for the members of the committee to consider nominations for the following categories:

FCC to conduct nationwide test of alert systems today

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on Oct. 4.

Off-campus access to some CTS services unavailable Wednesday due to server upgrade

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform an upgrade to the VPN (virtual private network) service. During this time, some technology services will be unavailable for employees and student employees.
