Minimum wage increase coming for student assistant employees

The minimum wage for student assistant employees will increase from $15 to $15.50 per hour, effective Dec. 19, 2024.

CTS offers update on telecommuting technology support

The campus recently announced the Winter Break Energy Management Initiative where telecommuting during the Dec. 16 to Jan. 17 timeframe is highly encouraged for employees. Campus Technology Services (CTS) will continue to offer technology support during this time frame. 

Banner student information system migration occurring January 2025

During the weekend of Jan. 18 to 19, 2025, Campus Technology Services (CTS) will migrate the Banner student information system to a new off-campus hosting solution managed by SUNY Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC). This move will help us maintain high-security standards while making the best use of on-campus resources. It will also allow the university to adapt to future technology changes easily.

Nine projects earn Student Scholarly and Creative Activities Grants

The Fall 2024 round of the Student Scholarly and Creative Activities Grant will fund nine proposals totaling nearly $8,000. 


These proposals were recommended for funding by members of the Scholarly and Creative Activity Committee and ultimately approved for funding by Provost Scott Furlong.

  • Artificial DNA Aging and Protection Study
    Student: Cameron Bashaw
    Faculty Mentor: Kestutis Bendinskas, Chemistry

11 projects supported by fall 2024 Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activities Grants

The Fall 2024 round of the Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activities Grants will fund 11 proposals totaling nearly $32,000. 


These proposals were recommended for funding by members of the Scholarly and Creative Activity Committee and ultimately approved for funding by Provost Scott Furlong. 

Retirement announcement for Maggie Rivera

The campus is invited to join the Office of the Dean of Students in congratulating Assistant Dean of Students - Student Outreach and Support Magdalena "Maggie" Rivera '92, '06, '07 on her retirement from her alma mater, SUNY Oswego, at the end of this month.

Student LakerPrint maintenance taking place next week

On Monday, Dec. 16, LakerPrint, used for student printing will be unavailable for maintenance from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

During this time, documents will not be available for release at any LakerPrint station. Also, please refrain from sending documents to LakerPrint during this time as they may not be received.

The popular Sheldon Institute youth camp at SUNY Oswego seeks dynamic instructors and course ideas for its 2025 program. This is a chance to make an impact and share expertise with curious, creative young minds.

37th annual Toy Drive wraps up tomorrow

The campus community can still make spirits bright for local children in need through SUNY Oswego's 37th annual Toy Drive, with information, boxes and contacts in buildings across campus through tomorrow, Dec. 10.

The SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) planning committee coordinates this annual drive.
