​​SHOP opens branch at Syracuse Campus

SUNY Oswego’s SHOP (Student Helping Oz Peers) pantry is expanding its reach, opening in the university’s Syracuse Campus and offering even more help to adult learners.

SHOP’s Syracuse operation is available to every student, from 3 to 8 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. Student teachers and international students make up most of the population served. 

Avoid injured or dead birds and other animals

Members of the campus community are encouraged to keep personal safety at the forefront when encountering dead, injured or sick birds or other animals on campus, due to a number of reasons including avian influenza. 

If you encounter an injured animal on campus:

Classes that start before 11:30 a.m. will be taught remotely

Due to adverse weather conditions, SUNY Oswego announces that all classes at both the Oswego and Syracuse campuses BEFORE 11:30 a.m. will be taught remotely on Monday, Feb. 10.

All face-to-face and hybrid classes will shift to remote instruction as directed by your faculty member. Online courses will proceed as scheduled. In-person classes starting 11:30 a.m. or later would meet in person unless the faculty member decides otherwise.

Spring Civil Discourse Series to start with discussion on climate change, environment

The university’s Civic Discourse Series –- designed to provide dialogue around current issues –- will return for the spring semester with a discussion on climate change and the environment from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, in 114 Marano Campus Center.

The discussion will feature faculty panelists Lisa Glidden (Politics), Matthew McLesky (Sociology), JR Slosson (Atmospheric and Geological Studies) and Jarrod Hadadorn (Cinema and Screen Studies). 

Hot cocoa bar fundraiser to support health honorary society

Writing Center announces spring activities

During the spring 2025 semester, the Writing Center will offer services including a new writing group for students, workshops and more.

The center is excited to coordinate a new writing group for students called Safe Space for Writers. This writing group will meet bi-weekly (on Wednesdays and Fridays) in the Writing Center and is open to all students. Those looking for a quiet place to work on writing projects are more than welcome to join.
