Important Reminders from Human Resources

With the spring 2021 semester in full swing, the Office of Human Resources would like to provide several important reminders and guidance to all employees. Please review this information carefully and contact HR at hr@oswego.edu or 315-312-2230 with any questions or for additional assistance.

Daily Health Screening

All employees working on campus or coming to campus for ANY reason (even if coming to campus for a short period of time to pick something up, attend a meeting, participate in COVID-19 testing, etc.) must complete the Employee Daily Health Screening form (accessible on the Oswego Forward website) prior to reporting to campus, or within the first hour of physically reporting to the workplace. The daily health screen should take less than a few minutes to complete and can be done from a computer or smartphone. Any symptomatic employee should not report to work.

Human Resources has a dedicated email address (eehealthscreen@oswego.edu) that can be used to submit any questions or correspondence you may have about the Employee Daily Health Screen. Employees and supervisors who receive follow up emails from eehealthscreen@oswego.edu are asked to respond promptly to all requests for further information (test results, isolation orders, quarantine orders, release documentation, etc.).

Please note that student employees and graduate assistants should complete the screening form found for students on the Walker Health Service’s Patient Portal. Students should complete this form and not the Employee Daily Health Screening form.

Travel Guidelines

New York State updated its guidelines related to travel outside of New York State on November 4, 2020. For more information, please see the full announcement.

Supervisor Reporting Procedure and Form

Supervisors are reminded to report any instance of a COVID-19 symptomatic employee or COVID-19 positive employee to Human Resources. See procedures and reporting form below.

Mandatory Weekly COVID-19 Testing

All employees who are required to report to campus in person for some or all of their work obligations are required to get tested for COVID-19 on campus weekly. Please go to tickets.oswego.edu to schedule a COVID-19 test (an appointment is required). It is the employee’s responsibility to schedule their COVID-19 test to meet the weekly requirement.

* Employees who have had a positive PCR test should not participate in surveillance testing for 90 days from the date of their positive test. Upon conclusion of the 90 days, they should be included in the weekly surveillance testing. As a reminder, please be sure to provide Human Resources with your positive test results in order to be exempt for the 90 days.

Basic COVID-19 Prevention/Protocols

Face Coverings/Masks - Anyone in a SUNY Oswego space must wear a face covering or mask that covers both nose and mouth at all times, except when alone in a private room, private office, private vehicle, or when outside where appropriate physical distancing can be maintained.

Physical Distancing
- Stay at least 6 feet from other people at all times; do not gather in groups; stay out of crowded places; and avoid mass gatherings.

Handwashing - Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and wash your hands after touching your face.

If you’re feeling ill - Any employee who is presenting COVID-19 symptoms should not report to work. Employees should report their absence to their supervisor, Human Resources and immediately seek medical guidance from their healthcare provider.

Exposed to COVID-19 - If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call the Department of Health for the county in which you reside for further guidance.

For additional information refer to the SUNY Oswego Workplace Entry Guidelines.
