Career & Technical Educator Preparation Field Experience

Registration and Placements

The semester prior to your field experience, candidates must register through myOswego the same way you register for all classes. Afterward, you will arrange your own field experience placements. You must always follow district protocol and seek approval from the teacher and administration prior to your arrival at the school.

Students who need assistance with their placements should continue to work with their faculty advisor, who will refer them to the Clinical Practice and Partnerships Office.  Our office will direct students to the applicable Tk20 application.

Practicum Log

While at your placement, you must maintain a Field Experience (Practicum) Log that is signed by the host teacher at the end of each visit. At the end of the course, you will submit the completed log to your course instructor. The completed log will be submitted to the CTE  department as part of your application to student teach.
