Faculty profile

Dr. Ruckel is a social psychologist whose research focuses, broadly speaking, on interpersonal dynamics and social perception. Her research often adopts a person x situation interactionist perspective, and ultimately speaks to intersecting literatures on interpersonal attraction and relationships, gender and sexuality, social perception, individual differences, and the psychology of social media. Current projects investigate individual differences and contextual factors related to people’s perceptions of others’ sexual interest. Other work examines social perception as it relates to initiators of romantic relationships and medical cannabis use/users.
