Student-faculty team to screen Safe Haven documentary 'Only 982' on campus

"Only 982," a 14-minute documentary, will screen at 4 p.m. Friday (Nov. 16) in Marano Campus Center auditorium. A question-and-answer session with filmmakers Mic-Anthony Hay, a senior in journalism, and English and creative writing faculty member Juliet Aires Giglio will follow.

Faculty member co-writes 'Nutty' holiday film to air on Lifetime

SUNY Oswego faculty member Juliet Aires Giglio and her husband, Keith Giglio, teamed as screenwriters for the comedy romance "A Very Nutty Christmas," premiering at 8 p.m. Nov. 30 on the Lifetime network and starring Melissa Joan Hart and Barry Watson.

Living Writers Series to include eco-poet, authors, storytellers, more

Award-winning poet Rebecca Dunham -- author of "Cold Pastoral: Poems," a collection that elegizes manmade disasters from the Deepwater Horizon oil platform to the Flint, Michigan, water crisis -- will join this fall's SUNY Oswego Living Writers Series, a roster that includes a playwright, nonfiction writer, novelist, short story writer and other published authors.

Mini-grants to support 5 Grand Challenge projects

A SUNY Oswego panel has recommended college mini-grant funding for five project proposals -- ranging from a multicultural effort to provide water purifiers to Puerto Rico to helping support a talk by an eco-poet known for her poetry about the disasters such as those at Flint, Michigan, and the Deepwater Horizon -- developed for Grand Challenges: Fresh Water for All.

A SUNY Oswego faculty-student team of Juliet Aires Giglio and Mic-Anthony Hay will produce a documentary to preserve the memories of cousins who were 7 years old when they had to leave Eastern Europe for Fort Ontario's Safe Haven to escape the Holocaust.
