SUNY Oswego creative writing faculty member Juliet Giglio and her husband Keith continued an annual holiday tradition of writing a Lifetime Network movie, with “Dear Christmas” debuting 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27.

“Midwest Gothic,” a new award-winning book from English and creative writing faculty member Laura Donnelly, brings together a collection of poems on the themes of family, memory, history and a sense of place.

Filmmaking classes and around 90 students in all worked together to create public service announcements about the importance of being registered to vote and voting -- encouraging civic engagement while honing their craft.

Three of the four winners of the CNY Short Film Competition are SUNY Oswego graduates who will receive generous support to bring their film ideas to life.

After nearly three decades of teaching, mentoring and helping build stronger writers, Brad Korbesmeyer recently retired from the English and creative writing faculty -- with an honor that will carry on his legacy.

Two SUNY Oswego graduates from the Class of 2020 -- Ajaneé Fryar and Laura Piekunka -- are among 100 honorees statewide for the new Chancellor’s Undergraduate Scholarships and Graduate Fellowships for the State of New York.

Laura Halferty, an adjunct professor in the English and creative writing department, recently earned the Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence for her encouraging, versatile and creativity-cultivating style.

The show went on for an annual tradition for cinema and screen studies students thanks to alumni support and the determined creativity of filmmakers in the Oswego family.

The State University of New York has recognized Leigh Wilson as a Distinguished Service Professor, one of the SUNY system’s highest honors.
