Alumna appointed to SUNY Oswego College Council

Carol Bradlinski-Watros of nearby Mexico has been appointed to SUNY Oswego’s College Council by New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul for a three-year term. The College Council is mandated by New York State Education Law, which provides for the establishment of a local council to supervise the operations and affairs of each state-operated institution of the State University.

Inaugural director of workforce innovation and community impact joins SUNY Oswego

SUNY Oswego’s Office of Workforce Innovation and External Relations (OWIER), launched by SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu in fall 2023, has named Kathryn Watson as its inaugural director of workforce innovation and community impact.

LakerPrint Quota resetting for fall 2024 semester

On Friday, August 16, from 2 to 3 p.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will reset all student print quotas in LakerPrint. During this time period, there will be a brief two- to three-minute window of possible impact on printing as adjustments are made and processed in the database.

SEFA Stuff A Bus effort collecting items for local schoolkids

The college’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign continues its sponsorship of the annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign, which provides school supplies to children in need in Oswego County’s nine school districts. 

Collection boxes around campus (see below) will receive drop offs. The collection is underway and will run through Aug. 16. The effort unfolds in partnership with the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Bargains available through OzThrift Sale next week

The Office of Sustainability starts the fall semester with the bi-annual Oz Thrift Sale, filled with new-to-you bargains and treasures Aug. 19 to 25.

Hours for the sale, taking place in Littlepage Dining Hall, are noon to 4 p.m. every day.

Note that Sunday, Aug. 25, is bag sale day, where visitors can bring in a bag and fill it for $5.

While the sale in large part supports the needs of incoming and current students, during the weekend -- Aug. 24 and 25 -- members of the greater Oswego community are welcome to shop the sale.

Student club and organization re-registration now open

August 7, 2024

Student organizations must complete and submit their re-registration in Laker Life by the beginning of the fall semester to remain active. Clubs who wish to remain active would need to re-register by noon on Friday, Sept. 6.
