ASAP series to present 'Unlock Your Potential Through Free Resources'

The Adult Student Assistance Program (ASAP), designed to help adult learners connect with SUNY Oswego and other students, will start this year's series free virtual series with “Unlock Your Potential Through Free Resources” at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. 

This session will focus on discovering invaluable no-cost tools like LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft 365 and Google Suite to enhance students' academic and professional journey.

Tyler Art Gallery to feature 'Figuratively Speaking' Sept. 3 to Oct. 6

SUNY Oswego's Tyler Art Gallery will open its exhibitions for 2024-25 with "Figuratively Speaking," running from Sept. 3 to Oct. 6, with an opening reception on Friday Sept. 6, from 5-7 p.m. at the first-floor gallery in Tyler Hall.

Modern Languages and Literatures to host Latin American Film Festival

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures has been awarded an external grant by Pragda’s Spanish Film Club to host a Latin American Film Festival this fall.

The five-film lineup will take place throughout the semester, yet the bulk of the festival is scheduled to take place during Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 to Oct. 15), International Education Week and Black Consciousness Day in Brazil (Nov. 20).

Full Access to New York Times now available through Penfield Library

Starting immediately, SUNY Oswego students, faculty, and staff can access all New York Times content at no cost through Penfield Library. While library users previously had to search a database for partial access, this new subscription allows users to browse The New York Times’ interface and access all content in a more intuitive manner, including TimesMachine access to articles from as far back as 1851.

SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu’s historic inauguration slated Sept. 27

A historic inauguration ceremony on Friday, Sept. 27, will formally celebrate Peter O. Nwosu’s installation as the 11th president in the 163-year legacy of the institution now known as SUNY Oswego.

New Marano Campus Center hours begin this week

New hours for the Marano Campus Center, the primary social and student activity hub of campus, are now in effect. They are as follows:

  • Sundays and Mondays: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Tuesdays through Saturdays: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Hours for the Marano Campus Center Welcome Center are:

  • Sundays and Mondays: 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays through Saturdays: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Panopto and Zoom Retention Policy to run Sept. 19

As a reminder from Campus Technology Services (CTS), the retention policy for cloud storage with Panopto and Zoom will be completed on Thursday, Sept. 19. The policy is run annually on this day. The retention policy will do the following:
