SHOP pantry opens today to support those in need

The SHOP (Students Helping Oz Peers) pantry will open for the semester at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5.

SHOP provides students, faculty and staff with free non-perishable food, toiletries, sexual and reproductive health products, and professional and winter apparel.

Located in the basement of Penfield Library to the right of the elevator, SHOP is a collaborative effort between on- and off-campus partners who recognize the need to address food insecurity within the campus community. 

Financial Wellness Workshop set Feb. 27

A Financial Wellness Workshop, presented by health promotion and wellness professor Sandy Bargainnier, will take place at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 27. SUNY Oswego's Employee Assistance Program sponsors this free workshop.

SUNY Oswego Syracuse Campus network maintenance this week

February 1, 2024

On Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Thursday, Feb. 8, both starting at 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m., a third-party provider will perform network maintenance affecting the SUNY Oswego Syracuse Campus.

Network connections will be unavailable for everyone at the Syracuse Campus during these times.

SHOP, SEFA team up for outerwear drive

The SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) committee and SHOP (Students Helping Oz Peers) are teaming up to collect new and gently used (clean) warm-weather clothing to support those on campus in need.

Organizers are seeking hats, gloves, coats and scarves, but no shoes or boots, please.

Donations are welcome in bins around the campus through Friday, Feb. 9, and will be distributed through SHOP shortly after that.

Major Jackson and Gish Jen to judge SUNY Oswego literary competition

Subnivean, SUNY Oswego’s student-staffed digital publication, has announced two prestigious final judges for the 2024 Subnivean Awards. The most recent recipient of the Academy of American Poets Fellowship for distinguished poetic achievement, Major Jackson, will be the final judge in poetry, while Gish Jen, recipient of the Lannan Literary Award for Fiction and a Guggenheim fellowship, will be the final judge in fiction.
