Multi-factor Authentication expands to more campus services

Campus Technology Services (CTS) continues to enhance data security by adding multi-factor authentication (MFA) as a second layer of authentication to many digital services. MFA requires the use of your normal password along with a code sent to an app or phone.

The newest application to require MFA includes Handshake used for publicizing and applying for student jobs. MFA will be turned on for Handshake on Monday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. Please note, MFA for Handshake will work similar to services already using MFA including Brightspace and myOswego.

Registration open for fall KidsTech STEM programs

The popular KidsTech program returns this fall with registration now open for the STEM 4 Kids (kindergarten through grade 3) and Young Inventors for grades 4 through 6.

Panopto Retention Policy goes into effect next week

September 11, 2023

Campus Technology Services will implement a new retention policy for cloud storage with the Panopto video service, which goes fully into effect next week. The new retention policy will be as follows:

  • Archive all content not viewed within the last two years
  • Removal of all content not viewed within the last three years

While archived content is still in Panopto, you must request that it be restored, which can take up to 48 hours.

Call for SUNY Honorary Degree nomination and/or Commencement speaker suggestions

Dear SUNY Oswego students, faculty, and staff,

Each year, SUNY Oswego nominates 1 to 5 exemplary individuals to SUNY for consideration of receiving a SUNY honorary doctorate degree. SUNY Oswego typically presentes SUNY honorary degree awards to recipients at its Commencement ceremonies and asks the recipients to serve as the ceremony's Commencement speaker.

Message from the President: Remembering 9/11

Today, we pause to honor the lives of our fellow citizens who perished because of the terrorist attacks on our nation’s soil 22 years ago. Nearly 3,000 lives gone in a single day in the worst terrorist attacks on our nation. Twelve SUNY Oswego alumni lost their lives on that tragic day.

Ukraine photo exhibition to open artists' residency at SUNY Oswego

Ukrainian-American artist Lida Suchy will open a residency, which also includes her husband Mišo Suchý, at SUNY Oswego with a collection of photographs starting the Tyler Art Gallery season.

ASAP presentation to support those looking to earn an A

The Adult Student Assistance Program (ASAP) will sponsor an online session tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 12) at 7 p.m. for those looking to improve their likelihood of earning a good grades.

PRSSA to host pitch workshop on Monday

The SUNY Oswego chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) invites students to learn how to craft an attention-grabbing pitch and to share their knowledge with others at the organization's first meeting, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, in 142 Marano Campus Center.
