Quarantine Restrictions on Travelers Arriving in New York

Per Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order, all travelers entering New York from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or higher than a 10% test positivity rate, over a seven-day rolling average, will be required to quarantine for a period of 14 days consistent with Department of Health regulations for quarantine. All international travelers arriving into the US must also quarantine at home for 14 days after their arrival. Please follow this link for the COVID-19 travel advisory.

If you make the voluntary decision to travel internationally or to a state that requires you to self-quarantine for 14 days, you should expect that the 14-day quarantine period without charge to leave credits does NOT apply in this situation. You would be required to work remotely if feasible or charge your leave credits, other than your sick leave, for the 14-day quarantine period.

Please follow this link for the Department of Health’s FAQ’s regarding restrictions on travelers returning from out of state travel.
