Annual Leave Expiration Extension – All Bargaining Units and Management Confidential Employees

SUNY Oswego is pleased to inform our employees that the New York State Office of Employee Relations (OER) has reached agreements with the unions to further extend the annual vacation accrual expiration for all bargaining units and management/confidential employees. Normally, any vacation accruals in excess of 40 days at the close of business on December 31 are forfeited to bring vacation leave credits down to 40 days as of January 1. However, with the accrual cap expiration being extended, all unused annual leave can now be carried over for an additional year through December 31, 2023. These changes will automatically be reflected in the SUNY Time and Attendance system; no action on your part is necessary.

It is equally important to encourage our employees to avail themselves of the time they have earned. Your health and happiness matter. Please consider scheduling time off to rest, relax, rejuvenate and enjoy some well deserved time off.
