iPad use in Art Instruction

Description: The Art Department at SUNY-Oswego has been active in using mobile technology in art history and studio art classes. This is partly the result on a novel iPad pilot program instituted in the 2013-2014 academic year by the campus Provost. Two Art Faculty will describe how mobile technology has been used in enhancing student learning in their classes. Among the applications discussed will be:

• Presentation apps
• Research tools
• Digital art creation and tools
• Evaluation and assessment applications

iPad use in Anthropology Classes

Description: This webinar will describe the recent activity by the SUNY Oswego Department of Anthropology in using iPads for forensic and archaeology labs, for field data collection, and as a platform for an interactive student handbook. A variety of uses for the iPads are already in place, and more are planned. They will assist faculty with interactive teaching related to the human skeleton, examining non-human primates, interactive modeling of bones and artifacts, and managing data collection for forensic and archaeological research. In addition, several applications will be helpful for exam review and labs, as many have built in quiz functioning. For data collection, using tablets would allow multiple users to link to our main lab database. Propagating Mobile Learning in the Classroom through a Faculty Learning Community

Members of #FLCmobile will discuss lessons learned as they co-piloted mobile applications such as Blackboard Mobile Learn, Padlet, Pinterest, and Twitter in support of student-centered discovery, sharing, and collaboration. "The Musician's Friend": iPad Apps and Strategies for Improving Performance

Backchannels 101: Enhancing Synchronous Events with Mobile Tools
