CELT’s mission is to cultivate a culture of reflective teaching practice and continuing growth that results in meaningful student learning. To support this mission and the educational mission of the college we:
- Offer professional development workshops on effective teaching practices;
- Identify evidence-based teaching practices and advocate for teachers to adopt these practices;
- Provide one-on-one consultations with faculty to support curricular development and revision;
- Recognize teaching excellence through awards (President’s and Provost’s Awards for Teaching Excellence) and by inviting excellent teachers to share their strategies and classroom activities;
- Encourage teaching innovation with Curriculum Innovation Grants.
- Support faculty who engage in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning through workshops, and one-on-one consultations and by increasing the visibility of their work on campus.
