Research

Use of Dictyostelium discoideum to understand the molecular mechanisms of directed cell migration, a process that is important both in normal physiology, as well as in a host of pathophysiological conditions, including atherosclerosis and cancer metastasis.  Focus on the signal transduction cascades involved in chemotaxis and shear flow-induced migration, the interplay between cell adhesion and directed cell migration, as well as the integration of various directional cues.

Specialty areas:

  • signal transduction
  • cell and molecular biology
  • live cell imaging
