Project BLEND

Building Leadership Excellence for Needs-based Districts

Project BLEND is one of six TLQP (Teacher Leader Quality Partnerships) initiatives funded by the New York State Education Department. It has evolved to become a highly respected tuition assistance scholarship program offered to aspiring leaders who are primarily tenured instructors in CNY’s high-need buildings and districts. Awarded recipients are nominated by administrators from our partner school districts in Onondaga and Oswego County. The selection process is competitive; those who are recipients receive tuition assistance as they complete the CAS in Educational Leadership at SUNY Oswego. Project BLEND Scholars and Alumni have access to extensive professional development and individualized coaching and mentoring with experienced educational administrators. School districts receive resources to partially support these candidates during the CAS program. Since its inception in 2009, Project BLEND has supported 45 candidates who were identified by superintendents and principals as having potential to be successful building leaders for high-need schools.
