The next installment of Rice Creek Associates (RCA) Reflections will feature SUNY Oswego biological sciences faculty member Dan Baldassarre discussing "Bird Research with Undergraduates at Rice Creek Field Station" at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.

Rice Creek Field Station invites the public and members of the campus community to a host of free environmental education programs this winter. Highlighting the winter events calendar is the sixth-annual Celebrate Snow winter festival on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (with a severe weather date of Feb. 15).

The next installment of Rice Creek Associates (RCA) Reflections will present “Tongue Tales: Self Care for Better Health Using Ayurvedic Insight” at 2 p.m. on March 14 at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station. This event was rescheduled from Feb. 7 due to weather.

SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station is moving forward on a major trail accessibility improvement project supported in part by SUNY’s new Outdoors for All program, launched by SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. to expand access to nature and outdoor learning opportunities across SUNY campuses statewide.

Rice Creek Field Station, Campus Recreation and Fitness, and the Counseling Services Center are teaming up to offer students an afternoon of recreation and relaxation in nature from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.

The next installment of Rice Creek Associates (RCA) Reflections will feature an expert talk on "A Brief History of Nature Study" by Paul Knittel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Rice Creek Field Station.

SUNY Oswego’s Canal Forest Restoration Project team will host nature-related activities, such as arts and crafts, kayaking, a story walk, local vendors and student research posters the day after National Arbor Day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at Rice Creek Field Station.

SUNY Oswego has become an affiliate of the Bee Campus USA program, designed to marshal the strengths of educational campuses for the benefit of pollinators. Oswego joins many other cities and campuses across the country united in improving their landscapes for pollinators.
