Oswego Hospital to host vaccine clinic on Friday

Oswego Hospital will offer a first-dose vaccine clinic from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 26. 

Hospitals are now able to vaccinate anyone eligible under New York State guidelines. To check your eligibility, visit the "Am I Eligible?" website. The clinic will be held at the Oswego Hospital's JPC conference room, 110 West Sixth St. in Oswego. 

Deadline extended for Artswego funding applications

University Police join effort to remind about dangers of texting, distracted driving

SUNY Oswego’s University Police will join law enforcement agencies nationwide April 5 to 12 to remind drivers about the dangers and consequences of texting and distracted driving. 

This annual campaign is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national “U Drive. U Text. U Pay.” high-visibility enforcement effort.

Business analytics minor provides access to growing field

Analytics, the use of and analysis of data to help make decisions, continues to a growing field in business and other areas -- and sits at the heart of one of the college's newest minors.

The minor in business analytics applicable to all fields and majors, not just business. Journalists, for example, increasingly use machine learning to help with reporting.

Reminder: Zoom recordings from spring/summer 2020 will be removed next week

A reminder to faculty that their Zoom recordings from the spring and summer semesters will be removed starting next week, on April 5.

Campus Technology Services notes that best practices recommend that recordings for campus lectures, meetings and events be culled on a regular basis. These recordings are generally only relevant in the semester in which they are created and utilized. 

'Best Practices for Writing Fellowship Applications' to present workshop for students

Dr. Lyn Blanchfield will present "Best Practices for Writing Fellowship Applications: A Workshop for Students" at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 2, as part of the college's Write Ways Series.

This interactive workshop will focus on techniques and tricks for completing fellowship applications for positions after graduation. Please bring any questions or concerns you have to share.

Interior design session on Wednesday to feature expert alumna

If having more time at home has you dreaming of redesigning your home or home office, 1983 Oswego graduate Nancy Fire has some suggestions through "Setting Your Quarantine on Fire," a free online session at noon on Wednesday, April 14.

Nancy Fire is chief inspiration officer and founder of Nancy Fire Designs and Design Works International, and a former design director for HGTV and HGTV Home. In this interior design workshop, she shares up-and-coming home trends and expert tips on how to design the spaces in your home to reflect your unique style.
