Oswego Reading Initiative author to speak on campus Sept. 27

Nominations open for SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty ranks

Each year, the State University of New York recognizes outstanding faculty service, teaching, librarianship, scholarship and creative activity through the conferral of Chancellor's Awards for Excellence and the promotions to the Distinguished Faculty ranks.

SUNY Oswego is authorized to submit up to four nominations for each of the following Chancellor's Awards:

Constitution Day activities to feature voting milestone

September 10, 2021

This year's Constitution Day activities on campus on Friday, Sept. 17, include a celebration of the United States Constitution and the 50th anniversary of the 26th Amendment, which gave 18-year-olds the right to vote.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., tables outside of Penfield Library will have free pocket Constitutions, voter registration information, games and prizes.

Attendees can test theirr knowledge of Constititional Amendments and learn about the "old enough to fight, old enough to vote" movement.

Management Confidential employees required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

In a continued effort to protect all members of the SUNY Oswego campus community, President Deborah F. Stanley is requiring that all Management Confidential (M-C) employees at SUNY Oswego complete a full COVID-19 vaccine series by October 12, 2021.

Flu shots: clinics begin today and will be offered throughout the semester

SUNY Oswego, in partnership with Wegmans Food Markets' pharmacy services, will host flu immunization clinics on campus this fall for students, faculty and staff.  The first flu clinic will take place today -- Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and 1:30 to 3:15 p.m. -- in Swetman Gym in Marano Campus Center, with online registration required.

Summer Scholarly and Creative Activities Symposium set Friday

On Friday, Sept. 17, the Research and Individualized Student Experiences (RISE) office will host the Summer 2021 Scholarly and Creative Activities Symposium, presenting about 30 outstanding researches from diverse disciplines in a poster session format.

The program will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Sheldon Hall ballroom.

SUNY Oswego continues to be ranked in the top 10 among public colleges in U.S. News and World Report’s 2022 Top Regional Universities in the North, according to the publication released on Sept. 13, 2021.

Kids Tech sessions return in October

The popular Kids Tech program returns in October for fall 2021 with registration for STEM 4 Kids and Young Inventors currently open for children from kindergarden through sixth grade.

SUNY Oswego technology education majors carry on the tradition of these award-winning, hands-on STEM programs and this semester, with organizers planning to return to on-campus delivery after maintaining the program virtually. 

STEM 4 Kids (grades K-3) will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in October (Oct. 5, 12,19 and 26).

ALANA Conference returns with in-person events, migration theme
