Holiday comp time for Christmas, New Year's Day

Full-time employees who are entitled to observe holidays, and are not scheduled to work on Saturday, Dec. 25, or Saturday, Jan. 1, will be credited with regular holiday compensatory time after each holiday.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Saturday will observe Saturday, Dec. 25, and Saturday, Jan, 1, as a holiday unless required to work. Any employee required to work on either day will receive either paid holiday pay or granted holiday compensatory time off (holiday leave), as appropriate.

Student-run literary magazine Subnivean earns national recognition, makes global connections

Fresh off a nomination for a 2021 Firecracker Award for Best Debut Magazine, SUNY Oswego’s student-run publication Subnivean has big plans as it continues to digitally accept prose and poetry from all over the world.

Flags to fly at half-staff for passing of Robert Dole

American flags will fly at half-staff through sunset on Thursday, Dec. 9, in honor of former U.S. senator and majority leader Robert Joseph Dole, following a proclamation by current President Joseph Biden.

Biden praised Dole as "a statesman like few in our history and a war hero" in making the Dec. 5 proclamation. 

Give kudos to a graduating student

The SUNY Oswego family applauds and celebrates the accomplishments of graduates -- the December Class of 2021, as well as the Class of 2020. Faculty, staff and students, as well as family and friends of graduates, are invited to share a photo, short video, a note of encouragement or a congratulatory message for members of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 on their respective online message boards.  

Cooper Fitness Center to have free Winter Break hours

Cooper Fitness Center will be open and free for all faculty, staff and students for portions of Winter Break.

Coooper will be open between Dec. 13 and 17, and Jan 10 and 22. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends during that span.
