Late Night at Lee set Nov. 11

Late Night at Lee will take place from 9 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 in Lee Hall.

Campus Recreation will hand out glow sticks, glow and glitter tattoos, and do neon face paint for anyone who wants extra glow.

Empty Bowls fundraising event to fill plates of those in need

Purchasing handmade bowls will put food on the plates of those in need on campus and in the community through the Oswego Empty Bowls fundraising event from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, in the Tyler Hall lobby.

Website migration under way for CMS upgrade

The Digital Services team is in the process of migrating websites from an older version of the university's content management system (CMS) to the newer version, Drupal 9 (D9). D9 offers more flexibility in building web pages, is more user-friendly for editors, and allows for more visually appealing sites.

Celebrations planned for National First-Generation Student Day

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, SUNY Oswego will join the celebration of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA)’s National First-Generation College Student Day.

The events are sponsored by the FirstLEAP Committee, which provides support for SUNY Oswego’s first-generation student population, as well as the faculty and staff who work with them, by offering opportunities for connection and learning, raising awareness of unique first-gen experiences, and fostering community.

Personal Business Numbers (PBNs) no longer required as of Nov. 21

In an effort to ease the use of the campus phone system, Campus Technology Services (CTS) plans as of Nov. 21, 2022, to remove the use of the outdated Personal Billing Number (commonly known as PBNs) for off-campus calling. On this date, PBN codes will no longer be required for any calls.

Outgoing off-campus calls can be made by simply dialing "9" and then the number. You will no longer need to submit a PBN request form. All future phone number/department and campus address updates for PeopleSearch will need to be requested through the CTS Help Desk.

Celebrating Graduate Studies Week Nov. 7 to 11

SUNY Oswego’s celebration of Graduate Studies Week 2022, from Nov. 7 to 11, will feature a mix of events scheduled on the main campus, Syracuse Campus and virtually. 

Events throughout the week will include alumni panels, career spotlights, ice cream socials and the opportunity for everyone to give "Grad-itude" to those who inspired their academic journey.  The week will also include a graduate student reception that will include recognition of outstanding graduate students and mentors.

Launch It finals today; campus invited to help choose Fan Favorite award

The finals of the annual Launch It student entrepreneur competition take place at 3 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 4) in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (Room 132) and virtually via this Zoom link.

After the semifinal round of the competition featuring 24 student teams, judges completed the difficult process of whittling the field to six finalists. The ideas and their student leaders are:

EAP sponsoring OzGiving Luncheon on Nov. 14

On Monday, Nov. 14, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the SUNY Oswego Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor an OzGiving Luncheon.

EAP will provide a baked turkey, and asks anyone who would like to join the luncheon to bring a seasonal side dish to share (and to bring copies of the recipe) and a non-perishable food item to be donated to the SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) Food and Pet Drive (donations will be given to Salvation Army and Human Concerns food pantry).
