SUNY Oswego continues to add to its storied history of serving and preparing students for success with formal name change from college to university.

Cameron E. Jones, a 2009 SUNY Oswego broadcasting and mass communication graduate and manager of development for integrated content strategy for ABC News Studios, will serve as keynote speaker for Oswego's December 2022 Commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

The operetta “The Golden Cage” –- first staged in 1945 at a one-of-a-kind refugee shelter and only recently rediscovered –- will showcase Oswego’s singular historic role when the Oswego Opera Theater stages it at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 3 p.m. on Nov. 13 in SUNY Oswego’s Waterman Theater.

SUNY Oswego students Claire Bosley as Ashley and Brock Whaley as Justin will have an opportunity to really develop their character work in the student-directed production of “After Ashley” opening on Nov. 9 in Tyler Hall’s lab theater.

Right in time for spooky season, communication studies faculty member Francisco Suarez speaks with costume designer Jany Temime -- whose credits include the "Harry Potter" franchise, "House of the Dragon" on HBO and the James Bond entry "Skyfall" -- on his latest video podcast of "From Suarez's Basement."

Cris Eli Blak — recently announced as SUNY Oswego’s spring 2023 Artist in Residence to teach in the Theatre Department as well as the English and Creative Writing Department — will bring students’ voices to the stage with a contemporary, collaborative production that he calls “half straight-play and half docu-drama.”

SUNY Oswego’s student-led production of “After Ashley” will blend comedy and tragedy, opening on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Tyler Hall’s lab theatre.

This year’s Lewis B. O’Donnell Media Summit at SUNY Oswego will explore underrepresentation in sports media with a day full of activities culminating in an all-star panel at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The multimedia dance project “Weight of Water” will explore ways local bodies of water impact community members during a free performance starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
