The 21st edition of SUNY Oswego’s Lewis B. O’Donnell Media Summit will host an all-star alumni panel discussing “The Evolution of an Idea: How to Nurture Creativity in the Digital Age” and other events on Thursday, Oct. 23.

SUNY Oswego's annual Festival of Fire -- a collaboration between the Department of Technology and the Department of Art and Design, brings an opportunity to heat up creativity on Friday, Oct. 17.

SUNY Oswego’s Theatre Department will open its season with a production of “Silent Sky.” which follows pioneering astronomer Henrietta Leavitt in the 19th century and her groundbreaking discovery of calculating the distance of the universe using Cepheid variable stars.

Axel Lopez, a first-year broadcast and digital media major, is among the 30% of SUNY Oswego students who are first-generation. The youngest of eight, Lopez shared how resources at Oswego, such as the Advancing Completion Through Engagement (ACE) program, are helping him achieve his goal of becoming the first in his family to earn a college degree.

Not only has renowned musician and educator Tim Herron returned to teach guitar at his alma mater of SUNY Oswego, but he recently contributed a tune to Central New York’s Acoustic Guitar Project that was dedicated to a faculty mentor, the late Stan Gosek.

Mario Pietra, a new faculty member in SUNY Oswego’s Music Department, and his TRIO 315 will perform the first concert in the renovated Hewitt Hall ballroom on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

The first day of fall 2025 classes brought a renovated and revitalized Hewitt Hall back online to prepare a range of communicators, storytellers and artists for today’s and tomorrow’s technologies, jobs and opportunities.

College of Communication, Media and the Arts Dean Jennifer Knapp recently took Video Production Coordinator Jim Kearns and Director of Communications Tim Nekritz on a tour of some of the most interesting and unique spaces in Hewitt Hall that will make it one of the best buildings in the nation for communication, design, filmmaking and other visual arts when it reopens for fall 2025 after more than $80 million in state-supported renovations.

SUNY Oswego students recently returned from a week-long trip to Ireland for their Quarter 3 course, "International PR: Food, Beverage, and Hospitality."

One City. One Campus. One Community. -- a project supported by SUNY Oswego, the City of Oswego Mayor's Office and the joint Campus-City Relations Committee -- unveiled student photojournalism promoting features and connections around the community on May 6 in Oswego's City Hall.
