Creative writing major Isaiah Bedoar will take on a new challenge this Friday, Oct. 4, engaging with author and SUNY Oswego professor Soma Mei Sheng Frazier in a public conversation about "Off the Books," Frazier’s debut novel, at 7 p.m. in Liverpool's Golden Bee Bookshop.

Paul S. Flores, who has just been named an American Book Award winner for "We Still Be," his collection of poems and performances, will share and discuss his work at Penfield Library Speaker’s Corner at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14.

Stories of local legends and spirits will return with a live performance when SUNY Oswego's storytelling class presents the 9th annual Oswego Town Rural Cemetery: Ghost and History Storytelling Tour at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

This summer, 15 SUNY Oswego students traveled to Tanzania for the “Biodiversity and Conservation” study-abroad course led by biological sciences faculty members Susan Hammerly and Karen Sime, learning about the complex topic of conserving species while also partaking in an exciting adventure.

SUNY Oswego faculty member Lisa Glidden, a professor of political science and director of global and international studies, has earned the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service.

If you appreciate that your cell phone fits nicely in your pocket or purse, you can thank physics major and 1980 SUNY Oswego graduate Paul Vianco and the contributions made by his team at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque to the electronics industry. He recently also decided to contribute toward the next generation of researchers by creating a physics scholarship for students at his alma mater.
