Retirement celebration Friday for three music professors

The Music Department invites the campus community to a retirement celebration for three professors, starting at 4 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the Tyler Hall lobby.

The reception will honor longtime and distinguished faculty members Todd Graber, Juan LaManna and Julie Pretzat (who is also the former dean of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts).

Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to share memories and congratulate Graber, LaManna and Pretzat on successful journeys during their time with SUNY Oswego.

Bone marrow swab drive scheduled Friday

Representatives of the NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program) Registry will be on campus holding a registry recruitment event that will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 26 in 133 Marano Campus Center. The Student Health Advisory Committee hosts the event.

LakerPrint maintenance set for Friday morning

On Friday, April 26, LakerPrint -- used for student printing -- will be unavailable for maintenance from 7 to 8 a.m. During this time, documents will not be available for release at any LakerPrint station. The campus is asked to please refrain from sending documents to LakerPrint during this time, as they may not be received.

Oswego Book Club’s latest selection features alumni author

For the first time since its launch in February 2021, the Oswego Alumni Book Club has selected a book by an alumni author. The club has chosen to read the novel "A Comedy of Pretzels" by Joseph “J.J.” Boskin ’51, an award-winning author and a professor emeritus of history and African-American studies at Boston University.

Summer youth camps registration now open

Registration for the Barbara Shineman Summer Scholars Summer Camps 00 Exploring Nature at Rice Creek, Sheldon Institute and STEAM -- is now open for families.

Visit oswego.edu/summercamps to register.

Camp drop-off is from 8 to 9 a.m., and student pick-up runs until 5 p.m. Scholarships are available for those with financial need.

President Nwosu to hold drop-in meetings today for students

SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu will host student drop-in hours today, Monday, April 22 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center food and activity court.

All students are encouraged to drop in, say hello to President Nwosu, ask a question or discuss a topic of importance to them.

With around 30 percent of SUNY Oswego students the first in their families to attend college, a number of initiatives and efforts are coming together to support this population.
