Love-a-Donor Day celebrates supporters

Last year, 5,928 donors raised more than $5 million for SUNY Oswego.

Today is Love-a-Donor Day, as the college shows appreciation to these many Oswego donors. Students, faculty and staff are invited to show their love to donors by writing a note of thanks. Stop by the table in the Marano Campus Center between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and be entered into a drawing for Dining Dollars. Look for red and pink balloons.

A group photo will be taken at 1:30 p.m.

Tenor to perform Russian arias, trace history in Ke-Nekt recital

Weekly Lunchtime Christian Meditation sessions begin today

Starting today (Feb. 13) from noon to 1 p.m. in the Newman Center, and every Wednesday throughout the spring semester, Lunchtime Christian Meditation in the Catholic, Eucharistic tradition is open to all students, faculty and staff.

Lunchtime Christian Meditation is sponsored by the Newman Center, John F. Lalande and a number of SUNY Oswego faculty, staff and students.

Professor’s book looks at legacy of Columbine shooting, 20 years later

For her latest book, which looks at the legacy of the Columbine school shootings two decades later, SUNY Oswego criminal justice faculty member Jackie Schildkraut said the foundation comes from a quote in the Wall of Healing at the Columbine Memorial -- a place of remembrance that will be supported withproceeds from the book.

Signups open for February KidsTech STEM courses

In addition to traditional Oswego KidsTech: STEM 4 Kids (grades K-3) or Young Inventors (grades 4-6) four-week classes in April, this semester the campus will host KidsTech STEM Warm-up Activities in February. These sessions invite children to enjoy an exciting STEM activity during their winter breaks and for new children to try out one of the iSTEM (integrative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) lessons led by the Oswego Technology Student Association and pre-service technology education teachers at SUNY Oswego

Faculty invited to "drop-in" today with President Stanley

President Deborah F. Stanley will host a drop-in with faculty today (Thursday, Feb. 7) from 9:30 to 11 a.m., in the Chu Atrium, located in the Marano Campus Center.

President Stanley hosts drop-in hours for SUNY Oswego faculty periodically throughout the academic year. Members of the faculty are invited to stop by and meet with her during these drop-ins.

New Mindful Yoga course begins today

Mindful Yoga with Steven, Fridays at 4 p.m. in 302 Lee Hall, is a new offering to wind down the week.

The weekly sessions led by Steven York of the theatre department offer a three-part restorative practice focused on body/mind/breath awareness, mindful movement and appreciation of the present moment. Each of the three sections last approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Latecomers are welcome to join at anytime during the first 30 to 40 minutes.
