SUNY Oswego to live stream "Erasing Hate" -- A SUNY Thought Leaders Event

SUNY Oswego is pleased to offer the following livestream event on our campus this Thursday evening, Nov. 7, in 105 Lanigan Hall.

Hosted by SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson (Live at the SUNY Global Center in NYC)

The presentation will run 6 to 8 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. This Oswego campus viewing is co-sponsored by SUNY Oswego's Pride Alliance.

Campus-wide effort celebrates, supports first-generation college students

With 29 percent of SUNY Oswego students counted as the first generation in their families to attend college, a new FirstLEAP Coalition for First-Generation College Student Support team on campus looks to both address these students’ needs and celebrate their accomplishments.

Morning classes cancelled today - Nov. 1

Due to extreme high winds and several power outages reported this morning, all morning classes on Oswego’s main campus (those classes with starting times prior to noon) for today, Friday, Nov. 1, are cancelled.

Planetarium shows to explore black holes

The SUNY Oswego planetarium will peer toward black holes to present "Laying Eyes on the Unseen" at 7 p.m. every Sunday during November.

In April 2019, scientists with the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration released the first images of the regions surrounding two distinct black holes. Their appearances confirmed Albert Einstein’s conjectures concerning how they should look, assuming his theory of general relativity and gravitation were correct.

Three-time Emmy Award-winning producer Cameron Jones, a member of SUNY Oswego's Class of 2009, was honored by the Oswego Alumni Association on Oct. 5 with a Graduate Of the Last Decade (GOLD) Alumni Award.

Michael James Olson will present an eclectic, inventive program blending electronic music with live instruments in the next installment of SUNY Oswego’s Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom.

Digital OZ seeks student stories

The Digital OZ project asks students: Can you tell a story about yourself in 500 words? 

Digital OZ is a website that showcases personal SUNY Oswego student stories. Organizers will work with students to write about their connection to SUNY Oswego -- whether it's their passion for their major or minor, their involvement on campus, a project they have created, research they have done, something they have discovered about themselves since being here or other topics.
