UP to host 'Coffee With A Cop' on Wednesday

SUNY Oswego's University Police welcomes all campus members to take part in "Coffee With A Cop," 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in the Marano Campus Center concourse (near the College Store and ATMs). 

University Police invites students, faculty, staff and administrators to stop by, say hello, enjoy free coffee and doughnuts, and share what is on their minds.

Groundbreaking marks the ceremonial start of Hewitt Hall renovation project

SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley, SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras, state legislators, construction and design partners and the campus community celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 1 that marked the official start of the $80 million Hewitt Hall renovation project that will turn the former student union into a state-of-the-art home for Oswego's School of Communication, Media and the Arts.

Advisement Center to hold registration workshops

September 30, 2021

The Advisement Center will host registration workshops beginning on Monday, Oct. 11 and running until Friday, Oct. 29.

During this time, Advisement Guides will help students understand how to review their degree requirements, use Registration and Planning, as well as browse courses and add them to registration plans. Eight seats will be available at each workshop available on a first-come first-serve basis; no sign-up is required.

Registration Workshops will take place in 151 Marano Campus Center on the following dates:

Registration is now open for SUNY Oswego’s all-online Winter Session, with more than 100 courses in a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate disciplines. 

Victoria Furlong named Oswego’s Vice President for Administration and Finance

SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley has named Victoria L. Furlong (‘08, ‘10) as the college’s Vice President for Administration and Finance. Furlong is the first woman to serve in this role.

Seats open for van driver training in October

Students and other campus community members are invited to take part in one of the upcoming van driver training programs in October.

SUNY Oswego policy requires that in order to operate the college-owned 12-passenger vans, students must be 18 years of age, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, and complete a driver training session. This includes students who are responsible for transporting persons in the vans for departmental purposes such as academic field trips, residence life and housing programs, athletic contests, and community service.

SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty Selection Committee vote set

Nominations have been received for the open seats on the SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty Selection Committee. Voting on the nominees for these seats will be done via Google Forms. Although the numbers of nominees within each category are low, a vote for these positions still must be held. Please submit your votes by 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2021.

Workshop series allows participants to explore internal emotions, change strategies

The Counseling Services Center offers a new RIO (Recognition, Insight and Openness) workshop series that can help students gain more insight into their internal emotional experiences, and tools and strategies that help students to handle painful thoughts and feelings effectively.
RIO is a three-session workshop where students commit to coming to each session.
