Penfield Library to host research party on April 25

Penfield Library is hosting a Research Party for students from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, in Room 215.

All students (grads and undergrads) are encouraged to come get help from a Penfield librarian in this relaxed, collaborative space. Whether you need assistance conducting research, finding scholarly sources or formatting your citations, Penfield's librarians have you covered. Writing Center tutors will also be there to assist you with your writing questions.

Students win awards in SUNY Model EU gathering

Four Oswego students had an excellent showing in their first-ever appearance at the SUNY Model European Union gathering recently, winning an award for Outstanding Agenda Item with sophomore journalism major Aidan Trusz honored as Most Effective Finance Minister.

Alumna to perform spoken word 'Redress to the Red Dresses'

A spoken word performance featuring the poems and short stories of Indigenous/Chicana artist and 2022 SUNY Oswego graduate Chelsea Maldonado called “Redress to the Red Dresses” will raise awareness of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (#MMIW) cause. The free event will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28, in Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre.

SEFA hosts children’s book drive to support Bookmobile

The SUNY Oswego State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) Committee once again will partner with the Oswego Bookmobile for the third annual children’s book drive.

The effort invites campus and community members to donate new and like-new books for children ages 3 to 18. The book drive will run through April 30.

With April celebrated as Earth Month, the Office of Sustainability and its partners offer many different opportunities to engage around campus. Events will include a special breakfast with maple syrup from sap collected on campus, open hours of the Shineman Greenhouse, Arbor Day activities, workshops and more.

For SUNY Oswego students Owen West and Claire Bosley, playing the leads in the Theatre Department’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” has provided a real learning experience. The iconic piece opens at 7:30 p.m. on April 19 in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
