Nominations have been received for the open seats on the 2025-2026 SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty Selection Committee. Voting on the nominees for these seats will be done via Google Forms. Although the number of nominees within each category is low, a vote for these positions still must be held. Please submit your votes by 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 24.

Students invited to take the National College Health Assessment

The Office of the Dean of Students asks students to take the National College Health Assessment for a chance to win one of 90 great prizes, from JBL headphones to Dining Dollars to Oswego swag and tumblers.

The survey takes about 20 to 30 minutes and it can be found in your Oswego email. It will ask you a series of questions regarding your personal health and wellbeing practices. The due date is Oct. 18.

Nominations sought for President’s Awards for Excellence in Service

SUNY Oswego has two annual award categories recognizing outstanding and exemplary service: The President’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service and the President’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, with an Oct. 31 deadline. To be eligible for this award, individuals must have been full-time faculty or staff at SUNY Oswego for at least five consecutive years. 

1861 Giving Challenge: Help unlock a $100,000 gift

Next week, join fellow faculty and staff in supporting Oswego students during The 1861 Giving Challenge, from 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, through 3:01 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.

If 861 donors make a gift in 1,861 minutes, Steve Levy ’87, ESPN SportsCenter anchor, will give an additional $100,000 to SUNY Oswego.

Every gift — no matter the size — helps reach the goal and shows the strength of the campus community in creating opportunities for every student to succeed.

Google Pixel network issue resolved

On May 1, 2025, Campus Technology Services (CTS) announced an investigation into a Google Pixel networking issue and suggested using the guest network as a workaround. The problem has since been resolved for most users with the Android 16 update. 

Biological sciences seminar Oct. 17

October 13, 2025

An Oct. 17 Biological Sciences Departmental Seminar will feature researcher Matthew Zipple addressing “Lab Mice in Naturalistic Environments: A New Model for Understanding Causal Social Impacts on Individuality, Physiology and Fitness."

The seminar, which is free and open to the campus community, will run from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 170 of the Shineman Center.

Faculty are invited to apply for the 2026 Accessibility Fellowship, with a Nov. 1 deadline.

This year-long fellowship enables a cohort of faculty to develop digital accessibility skills and revise a course to meet accessibility standards.
