Publications

  • "Kaspar Hauser medju narodima" (Kaspar Hauser unter den Nationen [Kaspar Hauser under nations]) from German into Serbian. The translation was published in the second issue of a literary journal "Trevelogue" (Serbian: "Putopis") in March 2014. 
  • Contribution for the project France-Allemagne “A Chacun Ses Etrangers?” which are lessons plans for teachers of German in France, for the section MIGRATION UND LITERATUR.  The work included annotations and worksheets for two stories by the Croatian born German author, Marica Bodrozic. Co-authored with Dr. Karina von Tippelskirch, Syracuse University. January 2009. See here.

  • Curriculum Innovation Grant for developing a course German Conversation through Film, Spring 2012
  • Goethe Institute/New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers Scholarship for 2010 for attending a professional seminar in Germany.
  • Curriculum Innovation Grant for developing a course on German Theater and Performance. SUNY Oswego, Spring 2006.
  • Goethe Institute/New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers Scholarship for 2004. The scholarship enabled me to travel, do research and attend a cultural seminar in Germany Literatur im Unterricht (Teaching Literature to Undergraduates), Berlin, July 4-17, 2004.
  • TraiNDaF 2003. A grant established by the German government that aims to build future leaders in the field of the teaching of German. The 2003 program consists of two meetings and a summer study program in Germany for development of language skills, cultural knowledge, and pedagogical/methodological practices.
  • Summer Research Award supported by the TEAGLE Foundation to carry out research and study of Berlin in the 20th Century (summer 1999). 
  • Student Summer Research Fellowship for the summer of 1991. This fellowship enabled me to undertake my research work in the "Egon Erwin Kisch Archives" in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
  • Charles Phelps Taft Graduate Fellowship. Recipient of 1990-91 Taft Memorial Grant to support writing of the dissertation. Taft fellowships are among the most prestigious awards offered by the University of Cincinnati and are given in recognition of academic achievement and potential for significant scholarly contribution.
